Southern Railway has announced partial cancellations of Coimbatore–Nagercoil Express services and changes to other train operations on June 26 and 27 due to infrastructure upgradation works at the Tirunelveli Railway Yard.
COIMBATORE: Passengers travelling from Coimbatore have been advised to check their travel schedules after Southern Railway announced the full and partial cancellation of several train services on June 26 and 27 to facilitate modification and infrastructure upgradation works at the Tirunelveli Railway Yard.
Among the fully cancelled services, Train No. 16846 Sengottai–Erode Express, scheduled to depart Sengottai at 5.20 a.m. on June 27, and Train No. 16845 Erode–Sengottai Express, scheduled to leave Erode Junction at 2 p.m. on the same day, will remain cancelled in full.
The changes will also affect passengers travelling on the Coimbatore–Nagercoil route. Train No. 22668 Coimbatore–Nagercoil Express, departing Coimbatore Junction at 7.30 p.m. on June 26, will operate only up to Dindigul Junction and will remain partially cancelled between Dindigul and Nagercoil.
Similarly, Train No. 16322 Coimbatore–Nagercoil Express, scheduled to depart Coimbatore Junction at 8 a.m. on June 27, will run only up to Dindigul Junction and will not operate between Dindigul and Nagercoil.
On the return journey, Train No. 22667 Nagercoil–Coimbatore Express, departing Nagercoil Junction at 9.55 p.m. on June 27, and Train No. 16321 Nagercoil–Coimbatore Express, leaving Nagercoil at 8 a.m. on June 27, will remain partially cancelled between Nagercoil and Dindigul. Both services will originate from Dindigul Junction and continue their journey to Coimbatore.
Southern Railway stated that the temporary train service changes have been introduced to facilitate infrastructure improvement works at the Tirunelveli Railway Yard and advised passengers to verify the latest train schedules before commencing their journey.
