Coimbatore Corporation Organizes Free Multi-Specialty Medical Camp for Sanitation Workers

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Theja IAS has ordered free multi-specialty medical camps for sanitation workers and their families from July 8 to 21 across five zones. Nearly 5000 individuals will receive comprehensive health checkups and medical services during this initiative.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Corporation is organizing annual free medical camps for sanitation workers and their family members from July 8 to 21. Following the directive of Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Theja IAS, these camps have been arranged under the guidance of the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.

The medical camps will be conducted in phases across all five zones of the corporation. The Central Zone will host camps from July 8 to 10, followed by the East Zone on July 13 and 14, West Zone on July 15 and 16, North Zone on July 17 and 18, and South Zone on July 20 and 21.

These camps will provide comprehensive multi-specialty medical examinations. Services include cardiology, pulmonology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, physiotherapy, dermatology, ENT (ear, nose, and throat), mental health services, lifestyle modification wellness center, obstetrics and gynecology, and foot examination center.

Medical tests will include hemoglobin levels, blood group identification, blood sugar levels, cholesterol levels, bile fluid analysis, urea creatinine, VDRL, HIV sample testing, ECG scan, and cervical examination. Specialist doctors will also conduct cancer screenings and breast cancer examinations.

Based on the examination results, sanitation workers requiring further treatment will be provided with appropriate referrals for advanced medical care. Adequate arrangements have been made to benefit approximately 5000 individuals, including sanitation workers and their family members.

Such medical camps are organized annually with the objective of improving the welfare and health of sanitation workers. Corporation officials have stated that this year's camps have been arranged with extensive medical examination facilities to ensure comprehensive healthcare for all participants.
