Coimbatore: G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital (GKNM) is set to organize a marathon titled 'Run for Little Hearts' on September 29, coinciding with World Heart Day. The event aims to support children affected by heart defects and cancer.
The marathon is scheduled to commence at 5:30 AM on September 29 at Mani Higher Secondary School in Papanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore. A medal and T-shirt release ceremony for the event was held on the 16th at the hospital premises.
Dr. Ragupathy Veluswamy, CEO of the hospital, stated, "The first edition of 'Run for Little Hearts' saw participation from 2,000 people. The funds raised from that event benefited 29 children affected by heart conditions and cancer." He added that children who have recovered from cancer and heart ailments will also participate in the upcoming marathon, and winners will be awarded cash prizes.
