GKNM Hospital today unveiled the mascot, T-shirt and trophy for the fourth edition of its ‘Run for Little Hearts 2026’ marathon, an awareness run aimed at raising funds for the treatment of underprivileged children with congenital heart defects and childhood cancers, scheduled to be held on September 27 in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: For children battling congenital heart defects and childhood cancers, access to timely and life-saving treatment can make all the difference. With the aim of extending medical support to underprivileged children facing these serious illnesses, GKNM Hospital is organising the fourth edition of its ‘Run for Little Hearts 2026’ charity marathon in Coimbatore on September 27.

Ahead of the marathon, GKNM Hospital today unveiled the event’s mascot, T-shirt and trophy at a launch event held at the hospital.
Dr. Ragupathy Veluswamy, Chief Executive Officer of GKNM Hospital; members of the hospital’s administrative team; doctors from the Paediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery and Paediatric Oncology departments; and dignitaries from LMW, Premier Fine Linens and the Coimbatore District Athletic Association were present at the launch.

According to the organisers, the marathon will commence at 5.30 a.m. on September 27 from the Mani Higher Secondary School Ground in Pappanaickenpalayam, featuring 1 km, 3 km, 5 km and 10 km categories, with the 10 km run being a timed event.
The 1 km and 3 km categories are open to participants of all age groups, while the 5 km category is open to participants aged 12 to 18 and adults. The 10 km timed run is open to participants aged 18 and above.

Participants will receive a T-shirt, medal, e-certificate and breakfast, while prizes worth ₹80,000 are on offer. Cash prizes will be awarded in the 5 km and 10 km categories. The last date for registration is September 19, 2026.

The fourth edition follows previous editions of the marathon, which have witnessed growing participation from across the city.
