Coimbatore: Devotees of Neem Karoli Baba from across Tamil Nadu are set to come together in Coimbatore for the installation of his sacred portrait at the Shri Nageshwar Mahadev Temple on Chokkampudur Main Road on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, October 20.
The installation ceremony will be held under the spiritual guidance of Pandit Gaurishankar Dubey and is expected to be attended by devotees, well-wishers and members of the community.
The organisers said the initiative seeks to carry forward Neem Karoli Baba’s enduring message of love, compassion, selfless service and devotion to Lord Hanuman. And the installation represents the culmination of a decade-long spiritual aspiration and the beginning of a new space for devotees of Maharaj Ji in Tamil Nadu.
Shravan Bohra, Tamil Nadu State President of the Vipra Foundation, said the ceremony would mark a significant moment for Neem Karoli Maharaj’s devotees, as the sacred space is envisioned as the first dham dedicated to the revered saint in Tamil Nadu.
He said the temple has been established by Gautam Srisrimal, whose devotion and sustained efforts have contributed to the creation of the spiritual space. The installation of Maharaj Ji’s portrait follows the long-standing desire of devotees to have a dedicated place in Coimbatore where they can come together in prayer, devotion and seek his blessings.
“For our family, the occasion holds a deeply personal significance. Having been devoted followers of Neem Karoli Baba Ji for nearly a decade, we have long cherished the aspiration of establishing a spiritual presence dedicated to Maharaj Ji in Coimbatore. The Vijayadashami ceremony will mark the realisation of that long-held wish,” he said.
Another devotee, Babulal Bagrecha, said the portrait installation would mark only the beginning of a larger spiritual journey. Preparations are already under way to install a murti of Neem Karoli Maharaj Ji at the dham in the future, with the vision of developing the space as a centre of faith, devotion and spiritual fellowship.
The initiative has also received the support and participation of several devotees and community members, including Keshav Kumar Dubey, Dilip Champion, Chandan Chopra and Sukhdev Suthar, among others.
