Two killed as lorry rams roadside meat stall at Negamam-Dharapuram Road

A meat stall owner and his employee were killed when a lorry rammed their shop on Negamam-Dharapuram Road on Thursday night. The Negamam Police said that the driver of a lorry, carrying goods from Hosur to Thrissur, lost control of the vehicle and rammed the roadside meat stall, where the owner Pon Jeba (42) and assistant Senthil Velmurugan were winding up business for the day.

While Jeba was killed on the spot, Velmurugan died on the way to hospital, the police said.

The police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the lorry driver.
