Urgent Inspection Requested at Poultry Farms in Dharapuram to Contain Bird Flu Spread

In response to the escalating bird flu cases, a petition has been submitted to the Tahsildar's office in Dharapuram, requesting urgent inspection and immediate culling in affected poultry farms.

Tirupur: A significant concern rises in Dharapuram and its surrounding areas as cases of bird flu continue to spread from local poultry farms. Led by East District Secretary Kali Muthu from Tamil Tigers, a formal petition was presented to Dharapuram Tahsildar Senthil Arasan, demanding stringent actions to curb this health menace.

The petition emphasized the frequent outbreaks of avian influenza in Tamil Nadu, noting particularly that hot weather conditions exacerbate the spread, making people consuming the poultry at higher risk. Moreover, around 500 poultry farms in the regions like Gundadam, Moolanur, Alangiyam, and Dharapuram itself were identified as high-risk areas, potentially affecting public health.

Immediate and effective responses were requested in the petition, specifically calling for the inspection and potential culling of poultry in farms where infections are present, to prevent further spread of the disease. Upon receiving the petition, Senthil Arasan assured that appropriate measures will be taken swiftly.

The meeting saw participation from state organization secretary Mugilarasan, Western Zone Deputy Secretary Ondiveeran, Dharapuram City Secretary Thondapani, Thanraj, and Bhagavathi, marking a comprehensive local effort towards handling this health emergency.
