Senior Journalist L. Rajagopal Selected as Part of Anti-Ragging Committee at DJ Academy of Design

The committee comprises representatives from various fields including education, police, parents and students, and journalist L. Rajagopal has been selected as a member of the committee representing the media fraternity.


Coimbatore: As part of its elaborate anti-ragging initiative, DJ Academy of Design has selected representatives from various fraternities including education, police, media and parents for its Anti-Ragging Committee. In connection with this, L. Rajagopal, a Coimbatore-based journalist, has also been selected to be part of the committee.

Having worked in various reputed media organisations for the past 19 years, Rajagopal, who is currently working as an independent contributor, will be part of the Anti-Ragging Committee for the academic year 2026–27.

Constituted in accordance with the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations, the academy’s committee aims at curbing the menace of ragging in higher educational institutions. Additionally, an Anti-Ragging Squad Committee has also been formed as part of the initiative.

The committee comprises Head of the Institution Mr. Vydianathan, Dean and Convenor Mr. Raja (Associate Professor), along with members Mr. Dinesh Kumar (Associate Professor), Ms. Jeeva Kalpana (Junior Officer – Administrative Office), Mr. Selva Ragavan, Sub Inspector of Police, Chettipalayam Police Station representing civil and police administration, senior journalist L. Rajagopal representing the media, parents Mr. Jayaprakash and Ms. Arul Kalarani, and students Ms. Amrithaa and Mr. Sathvik.
