Gudalur Municipality's health department fined a private company Rs 5,000 near Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore after inspectors found open containers and materials at its premises allowing rainwater to stagnate and breed AEDES mosquitoes, which spread dengue fever. The inspection was part of intensive checks and preventive measures being carried out across the municipal area to curb mosquito breeding. Following the fine, the company was directed to remove the stagnant water from its premises and maintain the surroundings clean and hygienic to prevent further mosquito breeding in the future.

The health department has been carrying out intensive inspections and preventive measures across the Gudalur Municipality area near Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore to curb the breeding of AEDES mosquitoes that spread dengue fever.
As part of this drive, officials inspected the premises of a private company operating within the Gudalur Municipality limits and found materials and containers kept in an open condition, allowing rainwater to stagnate and create conditions suitable for mosquito breeding.
Following this finding, Gudalur Municipality imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the company for creating an environment conducive to the breeding of mosquito larvae. The company was also directed to remove the stagnant water from its premises and to maintain the surroundings clean and hygienic so that mosquitoes do not breed there in the future.
