Four persons who tried to lead villagers to stage a demonstration on Sunday to condemn collection of toll from villagers close to Kaniyur Toll Plaza were arrested and remanded in the Coimbatore Central Prison under judicial custody.

The arrested persons Ramesh Kumar, Prabakaran, Velusamy and Jayakumar have been booked under sections 147 (rioting), 294(B) (abusive language), 341 (for wrongful restraint) and 188 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code.
