Coimbatore Vizha: 'Robotics isn't tough, it's rather fun to learn' says organizers of RoboCarnival 2017.


'iRobochakra' is a robotic academy in Coimbatore that offers inclusive training to school kids and college goers on the subject of Robotics and also conducts after school classes at its academy in Vadakovai.

This academy is associated with Novatech Robo, Bangalore and Lawrence Technological University, Michigan, U.S.A. Today, RoboCarnival 2017, an interschool contest on Robotics called 'ROBOFEST' and Science Quiz competition was hosted at the Hindusthan College in the city, as a part of Coimbatore Vizha in association with Rotary Club of Coimbatore.



ROBOFEST is a World Robotics Championship of Lawrence Technological University, Michigan, U.S.A and iRoboChakra is the official organizer of ROBOFEST regional finals in Coimbatore. This event is being hosted for the second consecutive time this year comprising of enticing categories for school children starting from class II and above on various topics. The winner of Robofest will receive an invite from Lawrence Technological University at Michigan, U.S.A. to attend the grand finale.



As a part of Robocarnival, there is also a science quiz hosted for students of class VI to VIII. The winners of this science quiz will be awarded with a cash prize. Anmol Vij, CEO and Co founder of Shopsup and Keymind India Pvt Limited was the chief guest and Imtiaz Khan, Director of Novatech Robo, Bangalore as the guest of honour for the programme.



As a part of irobochakra's, Robocarnival 2017, registration and training to participate in this contest has been sponsored for about 18 corporation school students. The company also has displayed about 12 varieties of projects related to Robotics and drones.



Speaking to SimpliCity, Arun Rajeev said “The awareness about robotics among kids is developing slowly, yet steadily. It is not a tough subject as everyone thinks, to the contrary it can be taught to kids in a fun way. And, regarding the costs involved in learning robotics, yes, it's little costlier but we have developed kits at affordable rates which even children from government schools can afford. Nearly 160 participants have enrolled for the contest this year. We have also sponsored kids from the corporation schools who will undergo a free training.”



Lakshmi Radhika Robotics trainer from BVM Global School shared that “Two teams have participated in the event from class IX and XI. We have robotics in our curriculum, it's taught to the students in a fun and engaging way. Here we have NXT Bot innovative model, which is made fully by Students without referring any model or pamphlet”
