His wife Sheeba became the donor. The expert team of doctors successfully transplanted part of the donor's liver to the patient. Currently, the patient has recovered well.
The team shares that 'Living donor transplantation is becoming popular worldwide due to the scarcity of cadaver donors. More than 250 liver procedures have been successfully performed at the GEM hospitals. The interesting fact is that liver is the only organ in our body that has the ability to grow for both the donor and recipient'.
