Commissioner of Police, A.Amalraj inaugurates district level sports meet organised by St. Josephs Polytechnic college.


A zonal sports meet is being organised by Saint Joseph Polytechnic college which is located at Veerapanur in Coimbatore. This district level athletic meet will be hosted for two days 02 February (today) and tomorrow at Nehru stadium.

About 1100 athletes from 36 polytechnic colleges will take part in this two-day athletic meet.



Coimbatore police commissioner, A. Amalraj inaugurated the sports meet, this morning. The sports flag of the Saint Joseph Polytechnic College was introduced during the occasion by the chief guest. Followed by which, the flag hoisting ceremony, lighting of sports lamp and oath taking ceremony and other sports events took place.



S. S. Nathan Chairman of St. Joseph Polytechnic College presided over the function. Principal of this college S. Senthilnathan welcomed the gathering and physical director of this college J. Suresh and staff were present during the event.

Deputy Commissioner of Police - Traffic, Coimbatore S. Saravanan will distribute the prizes for the winners during the valedictory function that is scheduled to be hosted tomorrow.
