45 railway passengers caught travelling without tickets in Salem-Vridhachalam section


A surprise ticket checking drive was conducted by the officers of the Commercial Branch, Salem Division, Southern Railway, this morning, 3rd February from 6 am to 9.20 am in the Ethapur Road Railway Station (in between Minnampalli and Athur Railway Stations) in the Salem-Vridhachalam Section. 

During this check, 45 persons were found to be travelling without valid ticket and a total sum of Rs.12,660/- (Rs.1410 as ticket fare and Rs. 11,250 as penalty) was collected from them.

This surprise ticket checking operation was conducted under the guidance of Viju Vin, Divisional Commercial Manager/Coordination, Salem. 17 ticket checking staff and 4 RPF personnel, assisted him. Hari Shankar Verma, DRM, Salem, advised to carry out such surprise ticket checking in other stations of Salem Division during the following days.
