The attack on Journalists in Chennai while they were reporting live from Koovathur resort, where the AIADMK party MLAs are staying is receiving severe condemnation from Journalists across the state. Several Journalistic associations have rebuked against the attack of the Journalists by some unknown 'miscreants'.
During this attack, cell-phones, cameras, mikes and other allied equipment used for recording very also severely damaged. Post this incident, Journalists all over Tamil Nadu including Chennai are hosting protests seeking safety of the Journalists and action be taken against the offenders.

Today, members of Coimbatore Journalists association more than 50 in numbers conducted protests in front of the Coimbatore Thasildar's office (South).
Slogans condemning the act were raised by the Journalists who also urged that a separate law should be enforced to ensure the safety of the Journalists while they are on duty. The Journalist association have also planned to escalate the issue to the Governor. Citing all similar incidents that were staged against the Journalists in the recent times, a signature campaign would be held to collect signatures from all Journalists and send it to the Governor's notice.
