Ukkadam Fly over Project: Demolition of Commercial complex at Ukkadam bus stand under way

Even as Ukkadam flyover work gathers pace, the demolition of commercial complex buildings at the bus stand is underway to facilitate the construction of the fly over.


Coimbatore: The State Highways department is in the process of constructing a flyover between Ukkadam and Athupalam which has gathered pace in recent months.

As a part of this, the work of setting up a landing deck section of the flyover opposite the Ukkadam bus stand is in progress.

In order to construct the elevation deck at Ukkadam, the Corporation has to demolished the area where Palakkad buses are parked now.

The compensation was already paid by the State highways department a year ago. The town planning department carried out field inspections to start the demolition work of the shopping complex.



The demolition of around 20 shops at the commercial complex at Ukkadam bus stand is going on in full swing since this morning.



In the meanwhile, the Palakkad buses would be parked in the different platform, due to the demolition work.
