However, on this special day, NGO 'Change Trust' founded by Tasleema Nasreen, a transgender from Coimbatore opted to a very special way to celebrate this day of love. This NGO under the leadership of Tasleema expressed their love for the patients of the Government Hospital (GH) in the city, this Valentine's day by hosting several commendable initiatives like organ donation camp, blood donation camp and a full-fledged cleaning drive at the Government hospital premise.
Tasleema spends a majority of her time at the Coimbatore GH, she counsels, motivates and guides patients at this hospital. Today, on this Valentine’s Day, her trust 'Change' along with the help of volunteers from other like-minded NGOs and college students have joined hands with passion to show their love for the patients in GH and to ensure cleanliness in the premise.

“Our Coimbatore General Hospital is equipped with many modern medical equipments to diagnose and treat diseases and disorders. It is a misconception that this place is ill-equipped and people have to seek private hospitals for advanced treatments. The public who take advantage of the GH should also act responsibly by not littering inside the premise as it not only makes the place look untidy but also becomes a breeding ground for various disease-causing virus.
Today, we have are here to clean the entire campus but with the continued support from the patients and the attenders we can continue to keep the premise in a pristine condition' Tasleema said.
She also extended her heart felt gratitude to Dr. Edwin Joe, Dean, GH and all other medical staff for supporting her in her endeavors. 'Without their support, it would not have been possible' said Tasleema.

Right from early this morning, the team of volunteers were involved in several activities. A section of them cleaned up the GH campus. Another section of this team educated the public on the importance of keeping the premises clean. The visitors were also made aware of the importance of organ and blood donation. A sapling plantation drive was also hosted at this campus as a part of today’s celebrations.

Speaking on this, Dr. Edwin Joe, Dean, Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) said, “Despite all the hardships that stood her way, Tasleema's intent of serving the needy is really commendable. Her tireless efforts has transformed the lives of the patients and now the place (GH) as well. Thousands of people visit the GH every day. The public (visitors) must cooperate in keeping this place neat and tidy.”
