India Design Forum will be organizing a three-day Good Design Seminar and announce India Design Mark at PSG Institute of Management from February 17th to February 19th.
India Design Forum was started in 2012 as a catalyst to promote innovative design thinking and create an awareness for the power of design. The forum aims to enable strategic alliances, encourages dialogue between academia and industry and facilitate cross cultural design thinking and application.
Rajashree Pathy, Founder of Indian Designer Forum while addressing the media shared that, 'India design forum works to create value from product. It is a platform to discuss various aspects of design. In today's world design and innovations has an important place and this will bring a revolution in industrial growth.This is one-of-a kind event is being hosted in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore is known as a textile hub but it will slowly transform into a leading design hub in the world. In these three days, seminars, workshops, interaction sessions by eminent people will take place. And, the event is open for all students, industry people and MSME categories. This event will create awareness about the concept of design among people. Presently, most lot of manufacturing companies outsource their design works, by creating an awareness regarding this concept we can direct a lot of foreign exchange into India.

Hrriydaysh Deshpande, Consultant Advisor, India Design Council shared that ,'Design is directly related to quality of people could be relating to a product or a service.The Indian Design Council is working towards 'Making India', with the concept 'Designed in India Made for the world'. So far, the council has made nearly 241 products get I Mark which is like a quality mark. The products which are I Mark are from across the Industrial segments.
The three-day event will have a seminar on 'Good Design' Seminar and I Mark 2017 Announcement.The seminar on 17th February will feature speakers Prof. Pradyumna Vyas Member, Secretary, India Design Council and Director of National Institute of Design, Sonia Manchanda, Co-Founder of Spread Design innovation, Hideichi Misono, Consultant at Toyota Shanghai Design Centre, Tanay Kumar, CEO Fractal Ink, and Hrridaysh Deshpande Consultant Advisor India Design council.The seminar will commence at 3.30 pm at PSG Institute of Management.
Apart from this on 18th and 19th February there will be events on Design Open, which will host design-thinking workshops, highlighting various aspects of design and an expo of designed products which will have some G Marked products. The seminar will commence from 10.00 am at PSGIM. All these events are entry-free for school students, college students, industrialists and MSME's.
