This morning, GRD Arts and Science College organised a 'Swachh Marathon' at Hope College, Avinashi road. Ramachandran, Educational Director and Assistant Principal flagged off the event.

Started at Hope College the Marathon ended at R.G.Pudhur. To create awareness on cleanliness among the public, the college students held placards with slogans emphasizing on the importance on 'Cleanliness'. About 1500 students participated in a cleaning drive that was hosted as a part of the event. The students formed teams with each team choosing different places in the city and initiated their cleaning drive.

When speaking about the event a student stated that, “The Swachh Bharat Mission proposed by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is gaining momentum through the nation and many educational institutions have took part in this commendable project. Today, we are also a part of this project. We began our cleaning initiative at 7 am this morning, all required cleaning equipments like gloves, trash bins, mask etc we were provided by the College Management. WE intend to create awareness among the public to keep their surroundings clean. We are happy to be a part of this initiative and all students have whole-heartedly rendered their participation', she said.
