'Escalator and skywalk will soon be open to public use at Coimbatore Junction', says Salem division DRM.


Hari Shankar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Salem Division stated that so far no one has expressed their interest to take up the tender for construction of the multi-level parking at the Coimbatore Railway Junction.

The senior official visited the Coimbatore Junction, last evening to inspect the on-going developmental works carried at the junction. While speaking to the press he stated that When speaking to the press after the inspection he said, “The works on construction of escalator and sky walk are in progress at the Coimbatore Junction. They will be open to public use very soon.” he said.

“About 95% of the gauge conversion works between Podanur to Pollachi have been completed. Nobody has shown interest to take tender for construction of multi level parking at the Coimbatore Junction and the de-demonetization of high value currency notes could also be one of the reason' Hari Shankar Verma said.
