Siruvani Literary Festival in Coimbatore - Actor Sivakumar, Collector Kranthikumar Pati and other writers participate

Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati inaugurated the two-day Siruvani Literary Festival organised by the School Education Department and The Directorate of Public Libraries at PSG Arts and Science College in Coimbatore. Actor Sivakumar participated and addressed the students.

District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati inaugurated the two-day Siruvani Literary Festival organised by the School Education Department and Directorate of Public Libraries at PSG Arts and Science College in Coimbatore.

Director of Public Libraries Ilam Bhagwat, Municipal Commissioner Prathap, Joint Director of Public Libraries Amudhavalli, PSG College Principal Brinda, Joint Director of College Education Kalaiselvi and other government officials were present on the occasion.



Film actor Sivakumar, scholar SV Rajadurai and writer Bhava Chelladurai were the chief guests on the occasion.

The festival focuses on literary works and cultural studies and is divided into two halls, the Creative Gallery and the Cultural Theatre, with a dialogue of outstanding personalities.



Speaking on the occasion, District Collector Kranthi Kumar said, "Siruvani river has its own unique history, tradition, people, their life-oriented literature and cultural works. This Siruvani Literary Festival has been organized to celebrate such literature in this generation and to take it to the next generation.

On both the days, there will be drama based on our culture and contemporary arts for the students and the people to witness. A book show and a tribal photo exhibition have been set up in the college where the festival is held.



Students of various colleges in Coimbatore district are conducting competitions on literature and reading, elocution competition, poetry competition, literary quiz etc.

At the opening ceremony of today's Siruvani Literary Festival, Nanjil Nadan, on the theme of 'Inner and Outer Sangam to Modernity', Stalin Gunasekaran on the topic history guides, Mohana Rangan and Ava Nayakan on the topic of finding good poems. Agaram, Ilancheral and Senthil spoke on the topic Of The Stories of the New Generation, Sriram on the topic of Regional Life in Tamil Short Stories, and Kannan on the topic of Gandhi and Ezhuthilakkum.

Also, on the topic of Tribal Literature - The Voice of the Voiceless, Balamurugan, Harikrishnan on the topic of performing arts and modern literature Jeevananthan on the topic of film art and literature, Mathivannan, on the topic of Tamil Literature - My Testimony, Podhiyavelpan and Ramasamy on the critical tradition of Tamil and Vijaya Velayudham and Akhila on the role of the publishing industry in promoting reading. Ramraj also spoke on the topic of performing arts.
