Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said that a sum of Rs 4 crore is deposited in the DMK Trust set up in the name of Kalaignar Karunanidhi and the interest accrued from it is being given as “ Por kizhi” of 25,000 each to eight senior leaders of the party every month.
Coimbatore: TN Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Udhayanidhi presented and distributed “Por kizhi” (cash purses) to 2,000 senior DMK pioneers and functionaries at a function organized at Codissia grounds in Coimbatore.
Addressing the function he exhorted the DMK cadres to work for a massive victory in all 40 parliamentary constituencies in the 2024 national polls.
Later he posed for photographs with the senior leaders of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said that a sum of Rs 4 crore is deposited in a trust set up in the name of Kalaignar Karunanidhi and the interest accrued from it is being given as “ Por kizhi” of 25,000 each to eight senior leaders of the party every month
"So far, Rs. 5,67,90,000 has been disbursed to 4,078 beneficiaries". he noted.
'The first programme was held in Krishnagiri West district in which 200 senior pioneers were given cash purses Rs.5,000 each was distributed, followed by Rs.10,000 each to 1500 senior party pioneers in Pudukottai district.
In Thanjavur district, 1,000 people have been given Rs 5,000 each " he said
"At a function held in Karur district yesterday, 1,270 people were given Rs, 10,000. And today, 2,000 senior pioneers of the corporation in Coimbatore district are being given Rs 10,000 each. This is something no party has done never before". Udaynidhi noted.
Lauding Minister Senthil Balaji for his dynamism, Udayanidhi Stalin said "When it comes to party work, election work, there is no match for Senthil Balaji.“
"Senthil Balaji is acting to such an extent that all other district secretaries are jealous of him” Udayanidhi noted.
“After I took over as the DMK youth wing secretary, we announced that, if they invite me to any event on behalf of the party, we will take Rs 1,000 to go there, and out of this Rs 4 crore corpus was created for the development fund for the DMK youth wing. The corpus is being utilized to meet medical expenses and education expenses of youth wing functionaries” Udayanidhi added.
“A total of 21 persons in Namakkal district, 21 in Salem district, 12 in Karur district and 16 in Coimbatore today have been given Rs 17,50,000 to 70 differently-abled persons in one month period,” he said.
"We lost the chance to win in Coimbatore district during the Assembly elections, but the government is extending welfare measures to all. As many as 1,32,000 people have received government welfare schemes and the Chief Minister has visited the district six times." the Minister said.
“The previous 10-year-old AIADMK government had emptied the coffers and due to this the debt mounted to Rs 5 lakh crore,” he said and added both EPS and OPS are slaves to the BJP".
“While lauding the people of Coimbatore for giving 97 per cent of seats in local body elections he said Coimbatore is not a stronghold of AIADMK but a stronghold of the DMK,” he said.
“Since I am currently touring various districts, I have breakfast in schools. The Chief Minister not only announced the schemes but also calls the respective officials on a daily basis to review the schemes” Udyanidhi said.
While alleging the BJP is spreading hate politics, he said the BJP is an "audio video" party, with factionalism.
Udaynanidhi also condemned the lies in social media, that Tamils are driving out the migrant workers from northern states".
"Recently the youth wing of the DMK, conducted a camp, in which the history of the Dravidian movement and the self-government of the state are taught" Udayanidhi said.
