TN Chief Minister M.K. Stalin exhorts DMK cadres to work for a massive victory in the forthcoming National polls; says ‘Naadum Namadhe, Naalaiyum Namadhe' in Coimbatore.

While talking about the mushrooming of new parties, Stalin said “There are parties that have found a place in history. At the same time, we also see parties mushrooming, but they disappear over time. But the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is not like that”.

Coimbatore: While some of the political parties are dreaming of engineering communal riots to bring down the DMK government in the state, we should not pay heed to them "said TN Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Addressing the function in which over 1000 cadres affiliated to various other parties, joined the DMK fold, at Chinniampalayam in the city, the CM said “the DMK should move towards our goal without paying heed to all this and just ignore those elements”.

TN Minister of Electricity Senthil Balaji presided over the function, which was attended by Ministers M. P. Swaminathan, Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Muthusamy and several other DMK office-bearers.

Earlier, the Chief Minister was accorded a rousing reception with the playing of chendai drums as he arrived at the function venue.

Addressing the massive gathering Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said:“

"The event is currently being held due to the by-election to Erode East constituency. I am obliged to welcome you all in the DMK fold”

“ Kovai Selvaraj, who has recently joined the DMK, is performing well. Earlier. I had seen him participate in TV debates when he was in the AIADMK. When I watch other AIADMK members participating in the TV debates, I used to get angry at their comments. But when Kovai Selvaraj took part, I liked him” Stalin said.

“Like a diamond, we in the DMK shine as we experience many hurdles. So far as the DMK is concerned, we do have a long history and so is called a mother party. At the time of launching this party, Perarignar Anna did not aim to reach portals of power, but work for the poor and the downtrodden and for the welfare of the Tamil people” the CM said.

While talking about the mushrooming of new parties, Stalin said “There are parties that have found a place in history. At the same time, we also see parties mushroom, but they disappear over time. But the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is not like that”.

While tracing the history of the DMK party, Stalin said “In 1957, Anna asked the party office-bearers and cadres whether we could contest the elections. In the 1962 Assembly elections, we won 50 assembly seats and sat in the assembly as an opposition party and In 1967, we came to power under the leadership of Anna”.

Stalin also dwelled upon the hard days of national emergency declared by late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi “ When Indira Gandhi imposed a state of emergency in India to protect herself from a crisis, there was a message that Kalaignar should not oppose the Emergency”.

“But, the very next day Kalaiganar mobilised lakhs of people and moved a resolution calling for the immediate abrogation of the State of Emergency, which landed us all in jails”. Stalin noted.

‘Then we were out of power for 13 years. There is no one party that has won like us, nor is there a party that has failed like us” Stalin recalled.

Adding he said “We are proud of both success and failure. Therefore, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is a party that strives without worrying about success or failure. The Dravidian model of governance is not only doing what it said but also what it did not say”.

While Stalin exhorted the cadres to win 40 out of 40 Parliamentary seats, in the forthcoming national polls in 2024, he said “Naadum namathe Naalaiyum namadhe” and cheered up the cadres.

“Democratic Progressive Alliance is not going strive hard not only to win all seats in Tamil Nadu but in all other states in India” Stalin thundered.
