AIADMK's women's wing, which met in Chennai on Wednesday, passed several resolutions including one seeking a special postage stamp to mark the 69th birthday of former chief minister J Jayalalithaa on February 24, and for statues of her to be erected in Chennai and at all district headquarters.
The party will offer free meals, organise medical camps and other events on that day.
The women's wing has also resolved to propagate the "thoughts and welfare measures" of Jayalalithaa among women in TN through a door-to-door campaign. They thanked general secretary V K Sasikala and chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for implementing welfare schemes, such as closure of 500 more Tasmac outlets and the two-wheeler scheme.
