Mayor Kalpana and Corporation Commissioner Prathap inaugurated a water pandal at the Gandhipuram town bus stand in Coimbatore to avoid physical problems caused by summer heat, and distributed water, buttermilk, fruits, and ORS powder to the public.
Coimbatore: The mayor and the corporation commissioner inaugurated a water pandal set up in Gandhipuram area to avoid the summer heat.
Coimbatore Corporation has set up a water pandal at Gandhipuram town bus stand in Coimbatore Central Zone to avoid any health hazards caused due to heat stroke during the summer season.

It was inaugurated by Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar and Corporation Commissioner Prathap.

They then provided water, buttermilk, fruits, and ORS powder to the general public. They also distributed hats and leaflets to raise awareness. Dr. M Sharmila and Sivakumar, Deputy Commissioners of the Corporation, were present on the occasion.
Summer camps started in 33 Coimbatore Corporation locations. Summer camps have thus begun in seven locations in Coimbatore Corporation's western zone, namely Mettupalayam Bus Stand, Vadavalli Bus Stand, Kumarasamy Kulam, Krishnampathy Lake, Gandhi Park Bus Stop, Poo Market Bus Stop, and Edayarpalayam Junction.

Summer camps will also be held in ten locations throughout the south zone, including Telungupalayam section, Sivalaya Junction, Kuniyamuthur Junction, Sundakkamuthur bus stand, Kovaipudur, Edayarpalayam South Zone office, Kurichikulam near Pongaliamman Koil, Sundarapuram Tax Collection Centre, Near SIDCO and Railway Station Marriage Hall on Saratham Road.

Summer camps have also opened in the North Zone in Thudiyalur Bus Stand, Ganapathy Bus Stand, Anna Nagar Surya Hospital, Chatram Road, Saravanampatti, Gandhima Nagar, Avarampalayam, and Singanallur Bus Stand, Chitra Kalapatti Road, Hopes College Bus Stop, and Sowripalayam Bus Stand.
Summer camps will also be held at 33 central zone locations, including Gandhipuram Central Bus Stand, Gandhipuram City Bus Stand, Ukkadam Bus Stand, Government Hospital Bus Stand, Railway Bus Stand, and Corporation Main Office Bus Stand.
The concerned medical officers within the ward areas should appoint one nurse for each camp and distribute ORS sachets and glucose powder at the camp locations.It has also been advised to provide awareness leaflets on safety tips to be followed and to maintain the health of the public during the summer season.
