Filmstar’s fans seek to curb video piracy

Film actors Nagarjuna and Karthi's fan club members on Tuesday submitted a petition to superintendent of police (SP) M R Sibi Chakravarthy (SP) M R Sibi Chakravarthy in Erode, seeking police support to curb the circulation of pirated DVDs in the district.

Addressing the media, they said that the pirated DVDs of the latest Tamil movie 'Thozha' is available in all the shops across the district. According to them, they got a tip-off that many CD shop owners have created pirated DVDs of the film.

They further said the shop owners were creating the pirated DVD copies of all the latest movies at their labs and managed to escape from police when the rushed for the raid.

Sibi Chakravarthy, who received the petition from the petitioners, assured them that he would take necessary steps in connection with the issue.
