On behalf of the JAQH Committee, special prayers were performed at Aysha Mahal in the Kuniyamuthur area of Coimbatore district on the occasion of Bakrid. Thousands of individuals took part in it, offering prayers and gurbani to the destitute and needy.

Bakrid, also known as the Day of Sacrifice, is an important festival of Muslims.Muslims from the JAQH Committee in Coimbatore celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with great zeal today.

This morning, a special prayer programme was held at Aysha Kalyana Mahal at Kuniyamuthur. A large number of Muslims participated in this special prayer ceremony.

They claimed that the festival of sacrifice is observed to foster fraternity, and that after getting up early in the morning, dressing in new clothes, and participating in the special prayer schedule, they offered gurbani to goats, cows, and other animals.

They also said that they are celebrating the festival of sacrifice with joy by dividing a portion of the meat among the poor and needy, one part for their near and dear ones and one part for themselves.

It is to be noted that the majority of Muslims will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow.
