Good Shepherd Primary School Holds Mock Presidential Election to Raise Voter Awareness in Young Children

Good Shepherd Primary School on Monday conducted a Presidential Election to create awareness among preliminary children about voting rights and political ruling. This is the first of its kind activity among government aided schools and over 100 students from classes 1 to 5 participated enthusiastically in the process.



Coimbatore: Good Shepherd Primary School held a presidential election on Monday to raise awareness among primary school students about voting rights and political rulings. This is a unique activity among all government-aided schools. The election included more than 100 pupils.



Students from grades 1 to 5 enthusiastically participated and voted for the qualified candidates.



This is similar to the national Parliament elections.



All of its characters, from campaigning and canvassing to the election platform and possessing individual symbols, were linked with national voting procedures.

Meanwhile, Sumathi, the Chief Education Officer, visited the voting booth and expressed her enthusiasm. "Voting is a significant right of every individual as they grow up," she told reporters. Imbibing its essential purpose and establishing the concept of democracy at such a young age will create greater change. When they attain their legal voting rights they will be married enough to elect a good leader. "

In addition, other external inspectors mentioned that such initiatives much be mandated across all schools which in turn will reflect in their social responsibilities.
