Minister Muthusamy said that the original clock tower was built in 1928. Earlier, there were no lights, but now the colour lights have been installed so that everyone can stand and watch.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Central Zone The clock tower, which is a symbol of Coimbatore, has been renovated in the Town Hall area with the participation of the Corporation administration and CREDAI.

It was inaugurated by Housing and Urban Development Minister Muthusamy for public use.

Speaking to reporters on the occasion,

Minister Muthusamy said that the clock tower was built in 1928. Earlier, there were no lights, but now the colour lights have been installed so that everyone can stand and watch. On behalf of the people, we thank them. This is not only symbolic but it has also set an example of how we should protect old-fashioned buildings. We have to protect such buildings.

The clock was brought from London back in those days and is fitted here. The Chief Minister is giving various new opportunities to take up various projects in Coimbatore. The Chief Minister takes every department as a duty and undertakes inspections. Earlier, when the Chief Minister was conducting district-wise inspections, we used to think casually. But in practice if the Chief Minister comes to a place for inspection, the work there is accelerated.

The works which are already going on at a fast pace will be completed in time even faster when the Chief Minister comes. He will soon give a date for conducting an inspection in Coimbatore as well. There is a possibility of more new projects coming up in Coimbatore. Coimbatore district will set an example in whichever sector is taken up.

Drinking water problems, etc., are all issues that have been pending for a long time. Therefore, the ministers of the respective departments are taking steps to rectify the work. A separate committee has been constituted for the coimbatore master plan project and action has been taken.

A total of 135 seats have been included in the master plan. "We have completed 19 per cent now from 7 per cent in the master plan and in the first phase we have to reach 22 per cent across Tamil Nadu," the chief minister said. The work is being taken up at a fast pace. The district collector and the municipal commissioner will take a national decision on the issue of sanitation workers. Of course, their problem is something that needs to be addressed and the government will certainly take note of it.

To a question on thondamuthur apartment works, They say that if they pay the dues, it can be handed over immediately and we will hold a review meeting tomorrow," he said. To a question on whether there are any plans to raise the water level of Siruvani dam, he replied that arrangements would be made to talk to the concerned officials and the minister in this regard.

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar, Corporation Commissioner Prathap Mayor Kalpana Anand Kumar and others were present on the occasion.
