TN CM Stalin should meet Karnataka CM to get Cauvery water - MLA Vanathi Srinivasan

Vanathi Srinivasan has urged the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister to “stop the drama on the Cauvery issue and meet the Karnataka Chief Minister and get Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.”

Vanathi Srinivasan has urged Chief Minister M K Stalin to urge Sonia and Rahul gandhi to direct the Karnataka Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to release water to Tamil Nadu.

In a statement, BJP National Women's Wing president and Coimbatore South Legislator Vanathi Srinivasan said,

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday said the Centre should direct Karnataka to release 12,500 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu.

Karnataka is currently ruled by the Congress, a close ally of the DMK. Siddaramaiah, a close friend of Chief Minister M K Stalin, is the Chief Minister of Karnataka.Sivakumar, a close friend of Stalin's visit to Bengaluru, is the deputy chief minister of Karnataka and water resources minister.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin had visited Bengaluru for the swearing-in ceremony of the Congress government in Karnataka and a meeting of the Indi alliance party and showered love on chief minister Siddaramaiah, deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Chief Minister M K Stalin has been pretending that the Centre should order the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu now without bothering about the Cauvery issue.

To stop this drama and save the livelihood of the farmers of Tamil Nadu, he should immediately go to Bengaluru and meet Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar as close friends and get Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

"Chief Minister Stalin has repeatedly said that he has formed the Indi Alliance to save India. If this Indi alliance will betray Tamil Nadu on the Cauvery issue and pretend to deceive the people of Tamil Nadu, what is the use of this alliance for Tamil Nadu? How can this alliance, which cannot provide Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, betray Tamil Nadu if it comes to power at the Centre? The people of Tamil Nadu have started thinking about it.

"When the BJP is in power in Karnataka, water is coming to Tamil Nadu regularly without any problem. However, just four months after the Congress came to power, Tamil Nadu has been rewarded with treachery without water. This is the lakshman rekha of the DMK rule.

Cauvery water is not only the source of livelihood for the farmers in the Cauvery irrigation district of Tamil Nadu, but also the source of drinking water for most of the districts of Tamil Nadu. Most of the combined water supply schemes are dependent on Cauvery water. Therefore, the Cauvery issue is a very important issue of tamil nadu as a whole. Even on such a very important issue, the DMK government was not able to talk to its ally Congress and talk to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to get cauvery water.

Why is it an alliance with the Congress party, which refuses to give even cauvery water, at the cost of the rights of Tamil Nadu and the livelihood of Tamils? "I strongly condemn the DMK for sacrificing the livelihood of the farmers and the public of Tamil Nadu for the sake of power hungry and political gains.

Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar will meet them and demand that Cauvery water be supplied to Tamil Nadu. "Chief Minister Stalin should urge Sonia gandhi and Rahul gandhi to direct the Karnataka chief minister and the deputy chief minister to release water to Tamil Nadu.
