Call for Applications for Educational Assistance - Coimbatore District Collector

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar announces educational assistance for students from backward, most backward, and scheduled communities studying in government and aided institutions, including private polytechnics under government quota.


Coimbatore: In a statement released on February 7, Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar has made a significant announcement regarding the provision of educational scholarships by the Tamil Nadu Government. These scholarships are aimed at students from backward, most backward, and scheduled communities pursuing their education in government, government-aided institutions, and private polytechnics under the government quota.

The scholarships will be provided unconditionally to students enrolled in three-year arts and science college programs. For other higher education courses such as postgraduate, polytechnic, and professional courses, the student's parental annual income must not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakhs.

New students who have joined this academic year are urged to apply for the scholarship by visiting the web portal https://ssp.tn.gov.in, entering the student section, and submitting their Aadhaar number for verification. The deadline for application submission through the online portal is the 29th of this month.

For more information, students can contact the scholarship assistant in their college or the office for the welfare of backward classes located on the second floor of the Collector's office, as informed by the District Collector.
