Orange Alert Issued for 15 Districts in Tamil Nadu Due to Heatwave

Due to the ongoing heatwave, Chennai Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for 15 districts in Tamil Nadu today. Rain is expected in several districts over the next two days.


Coimbatore: Amidst an ongoing severe heatwave in Tamil Nadu, the Chennai Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert for 15 districts including Coimbatore, Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Dharmapuri, Kallakurichi, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Karur, Trichy, Perambalur, and Ariyalur. The alert, effective today, indicates significantly high temperatures that could pose health risks.

Following this alert, there is a likelihood of rain in the districts of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, and Tirupattur tomorrow. Additionally, rain is expected in Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, and Tirunelveli the day after tomorrow.
