Coimbatore: In the latest developments at the Anaimalai Regulated Market, the regular copra auction took place this Tuesday and Thursday, generating a significant turnover. On May 14, following the regular schedule, the auction saw active participation from the local agricultural community.
90 farmers from the Anaimalai area brought a total of 682 bags of copra for sale. During the auction, 338 bags of first-grade copra reached a maximum price of Rs. 9,625 per quintal, while 344 bags of second-grade copra sold for up to Rs. 8,210 per quintal. Overall, a total of 320.54 quintals of copra were sold, accumulating a substantial sum of Rs. 27.24 lakh.
