MLA Vanathi Srinivasan Urges CM MK Stalin to Reform Aavin Management

MLA Vanathi Srinivasan highlighted the sale of expired Aavin biscuits in Gobichettipalayam and urged Chief Minister MK Stalin to intervene and reform Aavin's management.

Coimbatore: MLA Vanathi Srinivasan has raised concerns over the sale of expired Aavin biscuit packets in Gobichettipalayam and has called on Chief Minister MK Stalin to urgently address and reform the management practices of Aavin.

She pointed out the negligence in proper monitoring that allowed outdated products to be sold, potentially endangering public health. Officials responsible have faced criticism and there are ongoing investigations into the matter. The incident has sparked widespread concern as Aavin is a trusted name for dairy products among the Tamil Nadu public.

In response, local authorities and food safety officers have seized expired biscuit packets from distribution vans and outlets in Kodiveri Dam area under Erode District, following complaints from the Bhavani River Basin Farmers Association. Approximately six tons of expired biscuits stored at Siddhod Aavin's main office were reportedly shifted to another location, misleading the public and inadvertently selling these products.

MLA Srinivasan emphasized the need for a transparent and decisive action from Aavin management and warned that efforts to cover up might irreparably damage both the organization’s reputation and public trust. Aavin, known for its high-quality milk, yogurt, and other dairy products, faces a critical point in maintaining public confidence.

As the incident unfolds, there is a growing call for accountability and thorough investigation to prevent such occurrences in the future and ensure only safe, high-quality products reach consumers.
