Drone Flight Ban Imposed in Coimbatore Ahead of Chief Minister's Visit

Coimbatore Police have declared a temporary no-fly zone for drones in key areas of the city until tomorrow evening in anticipation of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's visit.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore City Police have issued a significant directive ahead of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's visit scheduled for tomorrow. Effective from 5:00 PM today until 4:00 PM on August 9, 2024, a temporary drone flight ban has been established around several strategic areas in the city, including Peelamedu, Race Course, and Ukkadam.

This 23-hour no-fly zone, designated as a RED ZONE, is set to ensure security as the Chief Minister inaugurates various welfare projects within Coimbatore. The police have strictly prohibited the operation or flight of drones within these regions to prevent any potential security breaches and to maintain safety during the high-profile visit.

Residents and visitors are urged to comply with the temporary restrictions and avoid using drones in the specified areas to facilitate smooth proceedings during the governmental events.
