District Collector Inaugurates New Facilities at Abdul Kalam Dream Special School in Coimbatore

Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS, inaugurated improved facilities at Abdul Kalam Dream Special School and Adelhilde Rehabilitation Center (DADSS) in Gandhipuram Kaattoor, enhancing education and rehabilitation for children with special needs.


Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS, inaugurated several new facilities at the Abdul Kalam Dream Special School and Adelhilde Rehabilitation Center (DADSS) in Gandhipuram Kaattoor, Coimbatore. The improvements aim to enhance the education and rehabilitation of children with special needs.



The new facilities include additional fencing for improved security, new uniforms and therapeutic equipment for students, renovated classrooms, a dining hall, and an assembly hall. These enhancements are part of a transformative project funded by Milacron India Pvt Ltd, Mold-Masters Division, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The project is being implemented through the Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC).



The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior representatives from Milacron, including Alfred Nobel, Vice President, Mold-Masters & DME, India, and Rakesh Kumar, Director-Engineering and Project Management. R. Thulasidaran, President of RAAC, and R. Ravindran, Secretary of RAAC, were also present at the event.



This initiative reflects the collaborative efforts of RAAC and Milacron in making a difference in the lives of children at DADSS. The improvements are expected to enhance the educational and rehabilitation experience while ensuring a safer and more supportive environment for the students.

The Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore (RAAC), established in 2006, played a crucial role in executing this project. RAAC is dedicated to creating a healthy, pleasant, and peaceful living environment in Coimbatore with extensive initiatives in education, health, environment, and social development. The organization's focus on holistic community development aligns perfectly with the objectives of this project, ensuring that DADSS continues to be a beacon of hope for children with special needs in the region.



The newly renovated facilities at DADSS will provide students with a safe and enriching environment, ensuring their overall growth and well-being.
