Ambulance Stolen from Coimbatore Government Hospital Premises

An ambulance belonging to the Hindu Makkal Katchi was stolen from in front of Coimbatore Government Hospital on August 31 night. The theft was discovered the next morning, prompting a police investigation.


Coimbatore: An ambulance belonging to the Hindu Makkal Katchi was stolen from the premises of Coimbatore Government Hospital, leaving authorities scrambling to locate the vehicle valued at approximately Rs. 3 lakhs.

The Hindu Makkal Katchi operates 16 ambulances in Coimbatore. On the night of August 31, driver Soundararajan parked one of these ambulances near the bus stop at Coimbatore Government Hospital before retiring for the night. When he returned on the morning of September 1, he was shocked to discover that the ambulance had vanished.

Kannan, the manager of the ambulance service, promptly filed a complaint with the Race Course Police Station. Sub-Inspector Joseph has registered a case and launched an investigation to track down the stolen ambulance and apprehend the culprits.

The theft of an emergency vehicle raises concerns about the security measures in place at the hospital and the potential misuse of such specialized vehicles. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and questioning potential witnesses to gather leads on the incident.
