Coimbatore boy wins silver medal at national shooting championships

B. Sekar, who is currently doing his final year B.Com at SNR Sons College, Coimbatore, won the silver medal at the 25th All India G.V.Mavalangar and 59th National Shooting Championship Competition, with a record breaking score of 286/300. the competition was conducted by the Haryana Rifle Association.

Sekar is the first person to represent Tamil Nadu at this event. He was also given the Renowned Shooter award. Sekar is Senior Under Officer of the National Cadet Corps (NCC). Currently, he is ranked No.3 among NCC cadets, and 32nd overall.

He took part in the 59th National Shooting Championship Competition last year in the Junior Men’s category 50-metres small bore rifle event. He scored 597.9/654 and was given the Renowned Shooter Award for his score.
