Election Commission seizes Rs.1.23 crores in Coimbatore alone

The officials of the Election Commission seized Rs. 1.17 lakhs from a person who didn't possess proper documents, near Nadugani check post, under the Gudalur assembly constituency in Ooty. With this, the total money seized from various parts of Coimbatore district has touched Rs. 1.23 crores.

According to the officials, the money was seized from a person hailing from Kerala. He didn't possess any valid document for it.

The 1.23 crores seized in Coimbatore district comes mainly from Udhagamandalam, Coonoor and Gudalur constituencies, with Gudalur topping the list with Rs. 66.71 lakhs followed by Coonoor (Rs 45.14 lakhs) and Udhagamandalam (Rs 15.85 lakhs).
