Man held for sexually abusing minor girl

The All Women Police in Perur arrested a 55-year-old man on Tuesday for sexually abusing a minor girl.

The 12-year-old girl lived with her mother, a daily wager, elder sister, and brother in a residential locality in Pattanam near Ondipudur in the city for the last two years. Her father is a lorry cleaner in Sankari, Salem district.

The family hailing from Salem were residing in the house owned by the accused, R. Lakshmanan.

In about half an hour, the girl came running to her house in tears and told her mother that she was sexually assaulted. The victim was treated as an outpatient in Coimbatore Medical College Hospital,” the inspector said.
