Security intensified at Kamal Haasan’s residence

Security has been tightened around the residence-cum-office of actor Kamal Haasan on Eldams Road, Alwarpet, after a few activists attempted to stage a demonstration opposing the television reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ he is hosting on Vijay TV.

Hindu Adiradipadai secretary P.S Raja Guru led a group of activists to stage the protest on Eldams Road, but were not permitted to proceed towards the road. Hence, they held a demonstration on Dr. Thomas Road, T.Nagar, against the actor and the reality show.

The functionaries claimed the reality show portrayed women in a bad light and was causing damage to Tamil culture. “Hence, the participants and host Kamal Haasan should pull out of the show,” said Mr. Raja Guru.

Activists detained

Police personnel rounded up the activists and detained them under preventive custody till evening.

The Hindu Makkal Katchi on Wednesday submitted a representation in the office of the City Police Commissioner, alleging that the show had obscene content and demanded the arrest of Mr. Haasan and the participants.
