FIR against Tasmac outlets that sold liquor on dry day

Coimbatore District Administration on Tuesday registered cases against the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TNSTC) outlets that were functioning on Mahavir Jayanti despite prohibition.

Based on a complaint, officials from the District Administration seized 230 liquor bottles and Rs. 20175 in cash from an outlet near Sokkanur in the Kinathukidavu constituency and filed an FIR against the workers.

The officials also seized 84 liquor bottles from two outlets in the Pollachi Constituency and a total of 66 bottles in outlets in Ramanathapuram and Avarampalayam and separate cases were registered.
