A couple was killed in an accident on Coimbatore -Pollachi Road near New Bus Stand at Kinathukadavu on Monday evening.
The deceased were identified as K Selvakumar, 30 and S Shanthi, 28, both hailing from Panapatti near Kinathukadavu. They were travelling in a motorcycle.
A speeding private bus heading towards Pollachi from Coimbatore, rammed the motorcycle they were travelling in.
The couple was thrown off from the motorcycle and they both sustained severe head injuries.
They were rushed to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) and despite treatment they died at the hospital. The Kinathukadavu police registered a case and further investigation is on.
