No state rank holder in The Nilgiris

While almost all the other districts in the state are boasting over the number of state ranks they have produced in the SSLC board exams, 496 is the first mark secured by the district toppers in The Nilgiris, one short of the state third rank (497 marks).

S. Prem Sekar of Sathya Sai Matriculation Higher Secondary School (MHSS) in Kotagiri and V. Rithika of Viswa Santhi Vidhyalaya Matriculation School also in Kotagiri shared the first rank in the district. Prem is the only boy among the eight students who shared the first three places in The Nilgiris.

Little disappointed

Being the school topper over the years he expected a state rank and was a little disappointed for settling with the fourth place in the State. He aspires to become a cardiologist.
