9-year old succumbs to burn injuries

A 9 year old boy, who sustained burn injuries, died without responding to the treatment at government hospital here.

The boy, Yuvaraj, poured kerosene in the firewood choolah in his house in Pollachi, which resulted in fire. The fire spread and there was none who came to his rescue as mother had gone out, yesterday evening, police said.

Hearing the sound and screams of the boy, neighbours came running and rushed him to Pollachi government hospital, from where he was brought to the government hospital here.

However, without responding to treatment, Yuvaraj succumbed to burns today, police said.
