Traffic Diversion in the City Today


As today the procession will be taken out for Sri Ramalinga Sowdeshwari Amman Temple's Maha Kumbabisshekam located on Raja Street, there will be a traffic diversion in the city.

 

The traffic diversion will be there from 5 pm to 8 pm for three hours but may extend for more time so the city traffic police have asked the people to be prepared for the diversion. Nearly 10,000 people are expected to be a part of this procession. The procession is scheduled to start at 5.00 pm from Weavers Colony passing through Mettupalayam Road, North Coimbatore VCV Road, DHS Road, Flower market, Sukravarpet, Oppankara street and then finally reach Raja Street.

 

The diversion will be as follows: When the procession reaches Alagesan Road, vehicles going to North Coimbatore from NSR Road and ARC Junction will have to go through Sivananda Colony from ARC Junction Vehicles heading towards Mettupalayam from Flower market will have to take the route from Avinashilingam college road, Bharathi park road - IV and NSR road.

 

As the procession arrives at Flower Market the vehicles coming their from Sukrawarpet will be diverted to Gandhipark, D.B Road, Cowley Brown road and then Mettupalayam Road.

 

As the procession will arrive near Sukrawarpet vehicles coming from to Gandhipark from Avinashi Road flyover will have to go through Marakadai Junction, Town hall, Vysial Street and then Gandhipark.

 

Vehicles coming from Perur, Selvapuram, Chetty Street and Raja Street should take Sivalaya Junction, Selvapuram High School Road, Ukkadam Bypass and head to Sungam or to Classic Tower Junction and Vehicles going  to Oppanakara Street from Ukkadam  should also take the above route through Ukkadam Bypass. Vehicles from Saibaba Colony to Flower Market should take NSR Road, Thadagam Road, and Telugu Brahmin Street until the traffic diversion is there.
