Much awaited rail over bridge at peelamedu by 2017

The project for over bridge at Peelamedu was sanctioned in 2013 but still after 5 years it stands incomplete with just the portions of work completed on the railway land alone. But now there is a sigh of relief to people who want to take a short route from Sathy road to Avinashi road as the over bridge is expected to be functional from July 2017. After a delay of nearly 5 long years, the projected is started.

The total amount sanctioned for the project is Rs.33 crore. The bridge will be 1 km long with a width of 7.5 m width. Till the project gets completed Ellai thottam road is being used as an alternative by people.

Even after the sanction of the project it was stopped due to various issues like land acquisitions for approach road near the bridge. The government has acquired land from the owners and have paid them the compensation. But with new land acquisition bill coming into force people have approached court demanding higher compensation. The government has assured the people of higher compensation once the bill comes into force and has paid the current rate is 331 per sq.ft.

Next in schedule is the Ondipudur rail over the bridge which will do after the land acquisition and Avarampalayam bridge will be started after the underground drainage projects completed.
