A Subway at Hope College soon.

District Road Safety Committee meeting was held in the city on Monday. A lot of issues were highlighted at the meeting to reduce the traffic congestion in the city and also regarding the flyover works going on in the city.

A new proposal proposed in the meeting was the construction of a subway near Hope college from Tidel park on Avinashi road. Travellers from Singanallur can use it without worrying about water logging in the rainy season. The Highway Department is studying the possibility of this project and will report to the government regarding the same as it will require land acquisition.

The Second proposal was regarding the extension of Gandhipuram flyover by 440 mm. Level one of the 4 lane flyover from Nanjappa road to Sathyamangalam Road had a deadline of getting over by this year May. The second level will be two lanes from Gandhipuram to Avarampalayam junction for 1.22 km. The second level is scheduled to be finished by next year. But the Secretary of Consumer Cause is of the view that before planning about the second level the first level work should be focused at the earliest. The city seems to gear up for transformation into the smart city.
