Coimbatore medical college gets Rs.250 crore funding for development



The Coimbatore Medical College was established in the year 1966, it's the golden jubilee year for the institution. A chain of events, lectures, exhibitions, seminars and awareness campaigns are on right from the beginning of this year.

Yesterday, as a part of the golden jubilee celebration programme, various cultural events were staged at the college campus. The Health Minister Dr.C. Vijayabaskar and many other dignitaries from various fields were present at the function.

'Coimbatore medical college is a pride to the city of Coimbatore. Over the years, the institution has reached great heights in terms of patient count and the surgeries performed. The Japanese International Co-operation have extended their appreciations towards the institution's growth & performance, over the years. A fund of Rs. 250 crore has been announced by them towards further development of the institution', said Health minister, Dr. Vijayabaskar..

The development plan will be initiated with the construction of a well-crafted arch at the entrance to mark the golden jubilee year along with state of art technical upgradation of the auditorium.
