State level Basketball Tournament at Alvernia School kick started


The 5th state level basketball tournament for girls , the Alvernia trophy kick started today. The Chief guest for the tournament was Mr. David Rajan, Chairman of Ortho One Hospital and Mr. Palanisamy, Vice President of Coimbatore District Basketball association was the guest of honour.

26 teams from various educational institutions all over Tamil Nadu participated in the under 19 and under 13 categories. The matches were conducted on league and knock out basis.

Points - 65-43 

Winner Alvernia School

Miridula from Alvernia team scored 20 points and Priya from Dindigul Sports Hostel team scored 14 points. 

Under 13

Chennai St.Joseph Vs Rajendra School

Points - 39-18 

Winner Chennai St. Josephs

Akshara from St.Joseph's scored 12 points and Shalini from Rajendra School scored 9 points

Salem Sharada Vidyalaya Vs Yuvabharathi School, CBE

Points - 30-7
